Justine is a Scottish artist, based near Stirling, with a background in science and antiques, who works in a variety of mediums including glass, textiles, and watercolour. Her work is inspired by her family’s roots in Orkney and Shetland, as well as the colours and textures of landscape and coastal regions of the west coast of Scotland. Her glasswork is formed with incredible time, care and patience. Glass is initially fired with other materials such as copper, silver and mica before being repeatedly smashed and re-fired. The process is repeated, arranging the shards with tweezers, until the desired shapes and forms take shape.
