John Paul Raine

John Paul Raine is a graduate of Gray’s School of Art. His career has included time spent as an illustrator for television, publishing and the oil industry. He was a lecturer in painting and drawing at Aberdeen College and a teacher of life drawing at Gray’s School of Art. After working for the last ten years as an art teacher in a Folk Highschool in Denmark, he now paints full time at his home on Deeside, near Aberdeen.

A founder member of the Traditional and Decorative Art Group, which exhibited in Aberdeen Art Gallery in 1992, John Paul Raine exhibits regularly throughout Scotland, and his work is held in both public and private collections at home and abroad. The main theme of his painting is still life with flowers, with occasional figurative and landscape work.
